In my early career I worked as a physiotherapist in the NHS helping children and adults after strokes or brain injuries. I love caring for people and managing my own workload. During a 3 son career break we moved to Northampton and I made loads of new friends through meeting people at the school gate. I then started work as a teacher at Northampton College teaching Health and Social Care, it was great to be helping other young people study towards their career goals.

As a child my family moved around quite a lot and as a result I have always loved moving house and making somewhere feel like home. My husband and I have moved several times in 20 years of marriage, I love all of the organising and getting things sorted out – which he says makes me a little strange!

In my work as a teacher and as a children’s club co-ordinator I have learnt so much about the challenges people face in housing and am really enjoying combining this knowledge with my passion to help people.
